Title: HOSPICE ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTORLocation: PruittHealth Hospice – New Bern, NCPOSITION SUMMARY:To administer the medical component of the patient care program and ensure quality of service. The Director will serve as a consultant to the patient’s primary physician and to the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team. This position will also serve as a liaison to the medical community.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Attends Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, in the absence of the Medical Director and provide resources to the hospice team.Is available for consultations with the Administrator concerning patient care situations and quality improvement.Coordinates efforts of each attending physician to provide care in the event that the attending physician is unable to retain responsibility for patient care.Assists in determination of patient medical eligibility for hospice services in accordance with hospice program policy.Will provide resolution of conflict between hospice team and attending physician regarding patient care issues.LICENSURE, EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Current license to practice medicine in the state where the hospice office is located and where the patient lives.Board certified in own specialty area.3+ years’ experience in medical practice.Staff privileges at a hospital within the hospice’s licensed service area.Hospice or home care experience desirable.Empathetic attitude toward the care of the terminally ill and their families.For immediate consideration, please click on the “Apply Now” at the top right of this screen.At PruittHealth, Committed to Caring isn’t simply a tagline, it’s the way we do business and it’s ingrained in our culture.
