JOB PURPOSE:

The primary function of this sales professional role is to develop early and appropriate referrals by creating and sustaining business partnerships with referral sources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrates of the principles of the sales process in a health care environment.

  2. Ability to manage assigned territory, conduct sales calls and presentations, and generate referrals by building long term business relationships and contacts.

  3. Ability to develop clinical knowledge base to support sales activities.

  4. Ability to identify and develop new referral sources.

  5. Develops, implements and evaluates quarterly and annual territory plans, strategies and actions to achieve negotiated goals.

  6. Build relationships with the Health Care Center staff teams to ensure the establishment of effective communication with referral sources and the staff teams.

  7. Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

  8. Analyze territory, establish sales goals, and write sales plan.

  9. Identify territory assumptions which may influence the achievement of sales goals.

  10. Identifies key referring physicians and personnel in hospitals, nursing homes, managed care operations and the community.

  11. Identifies and maintains existing relationships with competitive Health Care organizations, hospitals, nursing homes and physicians.

  12. Determines vulnerabilities of competitive relationships and set targets.

  13. Collaborates with facility Administrator & team in plan development and implementation; provides written plan of action.

  14. Develops specialty markets and plans of action.

  15. Monitor, evaluate and adjust the plan as needed. Evaluates performance against the plan.

  16. Completes and submits activity reports as requested by Administrator or Supervisor.

  17. Develops plan for accounts management with input from teams.

  18. Establishes objectives for each call and evaluates results.

  19. Implements strategies and actions which include effective sales calls, presentations, and use of collateral materials.

  20. Supports, assists and participates in promotional activities.

  21. Completes call reports.

  22. Documents and reports complaints and service related issues; resolves as appropriate.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Five (5) years’ experience in Healthcare Sales/Marketing, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Marketing, Sales, Public Relations or related field preferred
